Rasmus Hojlund could help Chelsea bank £50m windfall after Manchester United transfer

Rasmus Hojlund signing for Manchester United could inadvertently bank Chelsea a £50million windfall during the January transfer window. United splashed out £72million including add-ons for Hojlund this summer as they finally replacedfive-time Ballon d'Or-winning hero Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was allowed to leave Old Trafford for a second time - under controversial circumstances - last December following that bombshell interview with TV personality Piers Morgan, in which Ronaldo criticised manager Erik ten Hag, the much-maligned Glazer family and other key figures at United.

United initially set their sights on Harry Kane before the prolific England captain headed to Bayern Munich instead. Hojlund, 20, was then tracked, pursued and signed.
