Vodafone and BT latest to confirm broadband price hikes coming in just a couple months

Most of Britain's major broadband and mobile suppliers will introduce price hikes in April.

Firms such as TalkTalk, Virgin Media, and Vodafone will introduce price rises from April 1 in line with either the Consumer Price Index (CPI) or the Retail Price Index. Some providers will use different rates plus an additional 3 per cent, 3.7 per cent, or 3.9 per cent.

The mid-contract price rises may not apply to all customers, however, so it's important to check how your firm will apply the increases and by how much. Ofcom is also currently reviewing inflation-linked, mid-contract price rises, however, any verdict form this will likely be delivered after the next price hikes.

“Ahead of this change, our annual March 31st price increase of CPI + 3.9% going ahead as per normal. For most customers, this increase will be around £3 per
