Rashford, Sancho and Ronaldo - what Manchester United players are doing as pre-season nears
It won’t be too long before Manchester United’s players are back together to begin their pre-season preparations.
Erik ten Hag will get the chance to work with his new squad for the first time when they return for pre-season on June 27. They’ll then have just over a month before they begin the 2022/23 campaign back at Old Trafford against Brighton on August 7.
Before then, United’s players have been spending some time away on their holidays, but thoughts are now turning towards the new season as many of them begin work on their fitness. Some are still making the most of their time off before the real hard work starts – here’s a round-up of what some of them have been getting up to this summer.

Marcus Rashford
The forward has wasted no time in getting back down to work following what was a disappointing season for him. Having been down the gym last week, Rashford has been hard at training in the United States as he gets himself ready to fire for pre-season.
The 24-year-old shared a video of himself getting in some running drills to his Instagram page, along with a couple of pictures of him clearly worn out by his efforts. You certainly can’t accuse him of slacking this summer.
Bruno Fernandes
Like Rashford, Fernandes has also been getting in early by working on his fitness. The midfielder has had a busy summer, having just come away from international duty with Portugal.
The 27-year-old was filmed getting himself ready for the new season by his personal trainer. Fernandes will be another player aiming to improve on his showing from last season.
