Raphael Varane return, Paul Pogba latest and other Manchester United injury news

Manchester United are set to welcome back a number of players for this weekend’s trip to Arsenal.

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to return from compassionate leave following the heartbreaking passing of his newborn son. Meanwhile, Raphael Varane is also poised to come back into the starting XI following his latest injury setback which has seen him only feature in the 1-1 draw with Leicester this month.

Scott McTominay made it to the bench for the 4-0 thrashing by Liverpool on Tuesday. He is set to be ready for Arsenal this weekend after recovering from a foot injury that kept him out since the loss to Everton earlier in April.

However, United still have several players on the physio table, including the departing Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman had to be taken off after 10 minutes against Liverpool due to a calf problem that is due to keep him out for around four weeks. Pogba is set to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Many feel his appearance at Anfield was the last time fans would see him in United colours and Ralf Rangnick revealed in a press conference on Friday that he doesn’t believe he’ll play again before the end of the season. This comes after he was booed during the 3-2 win over Norwich.

Fred is also sidelined. The Brazilian is suffering from a hip flexor issue which prevented him from featuring against Norwich and Liverpool.

Fred didn’t make the bench against Liverpool and is unlikely to feature against Arsenal with Rangnick reiterating his injured status during the press conference.
