Rangers transfer news: Premier League clubs could 'blow Gers out of water' for Aribo and Kent
Rangers may find it difficult to hold onto Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent as Premier League suitors could offer the Ibrox favourites more lucrative salaries, according to the Herald and Glasgow Times’ senior Gers reporter Chris Jack.
Aribo and Kent have been on the radar of numerous clubs south of the border for some time thanks to impressive performances for their current employers.
According to The Sun, Aribo has moved to the top of Crystal Palace’s shopping list ahead of the transfer window reopening in the summer.
The report suggests Rangers would be seeking in the region of £10million for the central midfielder’s services and Palace, who have the funds to conclude a deal, see the 15-cap Nigeria international as an ideal replacement for loanee Conor Gallagher.
Aribo has entered the final year-and-a-half of his £14,000-per-week salary at Ibrox and it appears he is unwilling to commit his long-term future to the club after All Nigeria Soccer claimed the 25-year-old has no interest in signing a new deal having opening preliminary talks before the turn of the year.
Palace are not the only side coveting Aribo as Brentford and Watford are understood to have held an interest in recent months.
Meanwhile, Kent has been linked with a switch to Aston Villa after former Rangers chief Steven Gerrard took charge of the Premier League club in November.
The winger, who is valued at £12.6million by Transfermarkt, has also been admired by Leeds United for a prolonged period and the Whites saw a £10million bid turned down in August 2020.
