Rangers transfer bulletin as multiple Ridvan Yilmaz promises made to seal exit and affirmative striker update emerges

Ridvan Yilmaz is pushing to leave Rangers after talks with the Turkey manager over their Euro 2024 squad, according to eyebrow-raising reports in the player's homeland.

Left-back Yilmaz has been heavily linked with a move away from Ibrox this month and there's been interest from Hellas Verona in Italy. More recently though it's been Galatasaray making the headlines where he is concerned and Turkish media are high on the narrative that a return home - where he made his senior breakthrough after 13 years at Besiktas - could be big for his chances of playing at the Euros.

Reports have mostly been hinged on the fact he isn't first choice at Rangers but he recently has been under Philippe Clement, ousting Borna Barisic and starting their last four league games. And there will also almost certainly be chances over the coming months with Gers still competing on all fronts, including in the Europa League.

It's been widely reported that Rangers are keen to improve at left-back this month though. Reports over Josh Doig, now on the verge of joining Sassuolo, were played down but any movement in that position does hinge on either Yilmaz or Barisic moving on. A recent report from transfer insider Osman Senher claims Yilmaz has met with Turkey boss Vincenzo Montella in Scotland to discuss his future - and it's led to him making a personal plea to leave Ibrox.
