Rangers stars to only get ONE day off this month as cost of Dundee call-off takes its toll

Philippe Clement has revealed his Rangers stars will only get ONE day off this month after the latest Dens Park call-off.

The Belgian confirmed during his press conference that they offered to play Dundee TODAY after Wednesday night's encounter was rained off and the option was put on the table. The call off has wrecked havoc once again with the Light Blues' schedule. The Ibrox gaffer stated his players would have had just TWO days off this month and he's now had to take one of those back.

The men from Govan conducted all preparations they would normally and held pre-match meetings and prepared in the hotel in order to try to land the three points that would have taken them top of the Premiership table by two points above Celtic. Instead, Brendan Rodgers and his troops can now up the pressure by opening up a four point lead – having played two games more – before Rangers kick a ball in Dingwall.

Clement said: "We were ready to play, we prepared everything to play. Players had the treatment and we had the pre-match meeting like we always do. We were together in the hotel prepared on three points.

"Playing in the Premiership, the top league, with viewing records being set at the weekend and three days later we have something really bad for the image of the game. It could have been avoided by playing somewhere else.

"We were even prepared to play today if Wednesday was not possible, we offered that option. Who is going to guarantee that it won't rain next week also?

"We want just to play the game, we have a very busy schedule and prepare all training and preparation days in advance. The guys will have had two days off this month and I now have to remove one.
