Jon Rahm Masters 'bull' dismissed as LIV poster boy backed to bring the fire at Augusta

Butch Harmon isn't having the "bull" surrounding John Rahm, dismissing claims that he's coming into the 2024 Masters undercooked.

The defending champion is back at Augusta National as a LIV Golfer, having joined the Saudi backed tour in a $400million move last December. The Spaniard has faced criticism for ditching the PGA after being a staunch critic of LIV prior to his defection. And many have suggested that "Rahmbo" isn't the player he was 12 months ago in Georgia and will struggle to win the green jacket once again after several months on what golf purists see as an inferior competition circuit.

But Harmon is having none of it, blasting the naysayers for doubting Rahm, and telling other Masters hopefuls that they're going to have to be on their game if they're going to beat the big man to the prize. And he pointed to another LIV leaver as an example of still being able to get it done in the majors.

"That's a bunch of bull, a whole lot of bull!" He told Sky Sports. "He has the game to get around this. He is a former champion, former world No 1.

"We heard this about Brooks Koepka last year and what did he do? He won the PGA Championship and nearly won The Masters.

"Rahm is a guy you are going to have to deal with if you want to win this tournament. Don't listen to the talking heads.

"They're not playing. John Rahm is playing. If anything, I think it's only going to give him more fire."
