Rangers riddy as celebrations spark second hand embarrassment and Hotline swaps 'We Are the People' for new Ibrox slogan

Rangers were singing and dancing at Hampden on Saturday night. But the Hotline reckons Philippe Clement and his team were all out of step after celebrating their win over St Johnstone with the Union Bears.

David McCall said: “I got second-hand embarrassment watching that carry on after the game. After the shambles we saw on Tuesday night as we tumbled out of the Champions League, you’d have thought the players would have had the sense just to get themselves down the tunnel after a fairly drab win over St Johnstone. But no, they were led by the manager to jump about like they’d won the World Cup. Gies piece.”

Stephen Mulhern, Dumbarton, said: “That was nothing more than a desperate ploy by Philippe Clement to show his appreciation for the poor turnout by the Rangers fans. Saying the decision was made in midweek doesn’t stack up. If the game hadn’t gone Rangers’ way, would this have still happened? With Hampden half empty, it wasn’t a case of ‘We are the People’ but rather ‘Where are the People?’ Token gestures like this won’t ensure a full house in their temporary home.”

Gers got the breakthrough against Saints through Cyriel Dessers - but only after a lengthy VAR check. Andrew Taylor, Glasgow, said: “It's absolutely astonishing that VAR gave the correct decision to Rangers at the weekend, no wonder everyone is talking about it. I'm assuming that normal service will resume at Parkhead in a few weeks' time?"

But Jamie Thompson, Yoker, isn’t impressed
