Rangers news bulletin as Beale flatly rejects Betis narrative and Aris fear rivals are Euro punishers

Brazilian keeper Vana promises Aris Limassol will be ready for them in their next Europa League game because they have learned from their opening game defeat.

The Ibrox side travel to Cyprus next week to play their second match in the group after an excellent opening win against La Liga cracks Real Betis. Group outsiders Aris gave a good account of themselves as they were edged out 3-2 by Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic last week. And their keeper Vana insists they are desperate to get off the mark against Rangers.

The former Porto star said: "We are very proud of our display because we were playing a team who are extremely experienced in Europe. We didn't park the bus and we played our own game. I believe we learned a lot from this game and will use it in our next match against Rangers.

"It is extremely important you take points from your home games in this competition. Sparta punished us for our mistakes and Rangers will too. That's what happens at this level. We have a lot of games at the moment in the league and in Europe but we are loving it. We are learning with every game we play."

Meanwhile, Michael Beale believes Real Betis were given a bad rap before the clash at Ibrox and reckons the Spanish side's injury woes were overblown.

He said: "There were some things written about Betis that I didn’t like. They have good players and that was shown. At this level, for a Scottish team to win games in Europe they have to give everything and we did that.”

And Beale is under no illusions over the challenge facing his side when they face a Motherwell side who haven't lost an away league game since Stuart Kettlewell has been manager.
