Rangers manager search gets madcap Hotline shouts as fan pleads for multimillionaire buyer to punt FULL squad
Steven Davis led Rangers to a much-needed win over St Mirren to take the Light Blues into second spot in the Premiership. But, if anyone thought that was going to appease some on the Hotline, think again.
James Tavernier’s two goals and an Abdallah Sima effort got Davis a win, but one positive result isn’t masking general issues at Ibrox to some of our audience. Dr Robert Pinder got in touch to say: “What a bunch of boring negative players. Passing slowly and 75 per cent back towards their own goal. The club needs a UAE multimillionaire to plough funds in allowing present playing staff to be booted out. From top to bottom, the whole club has woodworm from the dead wood.”
David Bisset, Croftfoot, said: “We are so much weaker with Michael Beale’s signings. Without Alfredo Morelos, Antonio Colak, Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield, Ianis Hagi, Fashion Sakala, Glen Kamara, even Filip Helander and young Alex Lowry. Who is responsible for this?”
But Alan McGaw, Alloa, retorted: “Three points was all that mattered. Yes St Mirren getting man sent off, which was deserved, changed the game. Hopefully, Rangers get back players from injuries during the international break ready for Hibs in two weeks.”
The hunt for a permanent Beale successor continues and Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinny, had a fresh name to put into the mix as he said: “The Rangers board must change tack. They should now go and make history and approach the England’s Three Lions woman’s manager Sarina Wiegman. She got to a World Cup Final and won the Euros. An ideal candidate time for change and end this attitude that it has got to be a man. If not possible, go for Neil Warnock.”
Scott Kerr, Knightswood, quipped: “Rangers should appoint Michael Myers as their new head coach.
