Families can get free food if they 'ask for Ellen' at Morrisons

With schools soon to close for October half-term, Warburtons and Morrisons are once again teaming up to bring back their ‘Ask for Ellen’ initiative across all Morrisons Cafés. The scheme aims to give a little support to families through the holiday period amid the ongoing cost of living crisis.

From next week, anyone - both adults and children - can "Ask for Ellen" at any Morrisons Cafe to receive two toasted crumpets with butter and jam for free. There are no conditions, and no questions asked.

The offer will be available all day, in any of Morrisons 395 Cafés across the UK, from October 23 to November 5, while stock lasts. The initiative is back following its success during the school summer holidays - which saw 200,000 portions of ‘Ask for Ellen’ crumpets enjoyed by families across the UK.

According to the Money and Pensions Service, around a quarter of UK adults have less than £100 in their savings account. That equates to millions struggling to cover additional costs incurred during holiday periods.

The "Ask for Ellen" campaign is named after Warburtons’ founder, Ellen Warburton. The 5th generation family business, based in Bolton, has been supporting charities since it was established in 1876
