Rangers might have just missed out on claiming top spot on Wednesday night but Ibrox fans are convinced it’s only a matter of time.

The Light Blues roared past Ross County and it’s only goals scored keeping Celtic’s noses in front. The title race is heating up and Dr Robert S Pender, emailed: “Ice cool Rangers manager Philippe Clement will lead his players to the title. His tunnel vision of only looking at Rangers will pay off. It is difficult as a player to be distracted looking at other teams but with a cool leader they will learn.”

John Bruce, Glasgow, said: “Ibrox was crackling in anticipation of Rangers going top of the league at the end of the game – which they did, albeit joint top. Celtic fans must be furious that their team has let a seven-point lead slip, but Rangers fans are delighted that the seven-point start that was gifted to Celtic by Michael Beale has now been clawed back – and in some style. The momentum is now with Rangers.”

Ian McKay, Denny, said: “I have a feeling that goal difference may have to come into account for the title. If only Rangers were awarded as many penalties as other sides. Continue the good work Philippe.”

There is no pleasing some folk though as Robert Livingston emailed said: “Cyriel Dessers what a shocker, a half decent centre forward would have scored a barrow load against Ross County. Yes he got two goals but he is not the answer. Clement surely must now see his mistake in not getting Lawrence Shankland.”

Celtic fans don’t sound too worried though. Kenny Wilson, Moffat, said: “With Rangers yet again bottling the chance to go top again questions will be asked if they ever will? Celtic are miles from their best and are still on top and when players come back from injury I’m
