Rangers are Everton and Celtic are Liverpool as despairing Bear risks a slagging to declare 'the rivalry is gone'

One despondent Rangers fan risked a slagging from his supporters bus mates by calling into Clyde Super Scoreboard to say that his team are now essentially the Everton to Celtic's Liverpool.

And he made the bold claim that there "is no rivalry" given the Hoops' derby superiority over their bitterest rivals. Sunday's defeat made it no wins in five meetings with the Bhoys for Philippe Clement and one win in the last seven derbies for the Light Blues. From being potential title deciders, the punter now sees it as Gers heading into these games hoping not to be embarrassed.

And he likened that to the Merseyside derby, in which the Reds tend to dominate bar the odd Toffees result. He said: "I'm going to get a lot of slagging from my mates who I go on the bus with when they realise who it is that's phoned in. But for me, what we're resembling is Everton in the Merseyside derby, In terms of the rivalry, there isn't a rivalry. We're turning up and if we can get a draw here, that's alright. That's not good enough."
