Goals galore for both Old Firm teams at the weekend highlighted the gulf between the big two and the rest of the Premiership.

But it also served to give Celtic and Rangers fans ammunition for some tit for tat in a title race which continues to be nip and tuck.

Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: "Rangers are my team and we easily won last season's title, however, it's hats off to Celtic for providing a real challenge this year. Two teams playing some good stuff, what's not to like? Instead I am forced to read drivel about SFA bias, bent referees, and fear factors that are pie in the sky. Sit back, play the games and enjoy. Well done Celtic for providing a challenge, now let's see how the season plays out."

Lance Little, Erskine, said: "It's great to see all the usual suspects amongst the Rangers fans crowing about looking forward to meeting Celtic again. After the battering their team received last Wednesday, they think a win against an understrength Hearts team suggests they can win next time. Their team were chasing shadows against Celtic and only a good display by their keeper prevented a cricket score."

George Wilson, West Sussex, said: "It was comical stuff from Hotline caller Colin McArdle who said Celtic will be a major threat in the Champions League. Can I remind him their level is the Conference League.
