Livingston striker Bruce Anderson says victory over Aberdeen has Lions looking to roar into the top six

Livingston striker Bruce Anderson believes getting one over his former team means the Lions can set their sights firmly on the top six.

An early goal from Ayo Obileye was added to by Alan Forrest four minutes into the second half as the hosts looked in complete control against a disappointing Dons side.

But a Christian Ramirez strike on 66 minutes and a red card for Livi winger Cristian Montano six minutes from time meant it was an all hands on deck defensive display that saw the hosts emerge with the three points.

He commented: “We have to be looking up instead of down. We need to be thinking that we can go and catch some of the teams above us.

“It feels massive. We will take huge confidence from it, especially after the way Tuesday went and it was important for us to bounce back from that.

“Hopefully we can get into the top six. I’m not sure about European football. We’ll take each game as it comes.”

It was a different story the last time the two teams met in West Lothian with a Max Stryjek fumble in injury-time ensuring a victoty for Aberdeen after Anderson had headed Livi in front.

That they refused to wilt when down to 10 men and up against it is proof of how the club have advanced this term, says the striker.

“If you remember the game at the start of the season we threw it away at the end against so it shows we are building as a team and we are getting better each week,” he said.

“We seen the body language of their players and I thought we were going to kick on but all it takes is one goal and then it is panic stages but we are delighted to get the three points any way they come.

“It is always hard against them so we are delighted with the three points.”
