Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt squad comparison as Ibrox side have to bridge financial gulf one last time

The good news for Rangers is that Eintracht Frankfurt's most expensive player is unavailable for the final.

The bad news is they have another in their ranks worth just as much and a free transfer who could be the biggest threat to the Ibrox side in Seville.

But what isn't open for debate is that Giovanni van Bronckhorst will once again have to bridge a fairly big financial gulf to make history in the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

It won't be nearly as big as the last Bundesliga side they faced when RB Leipzig and their £200 million squad were defeated at Ibrox.

But Eintracht Frankfurt's Europa League squad is still worth more than THREE TIMES that of Rangers.

That, though, won't faze the Light Blues given some of the teams they have seen off in this competition.

Austrian stopper Martin Hinteregger cost the Bundesliga side £10 million but was injured in the semi-final against West Ham and is a huge loss.

However, while he's only on loan just now, Jens Petter Hauge is likely to cost the same if his loan from AC Milan is made permanent and that potential fee hasn't been included in our squad valuation with the money not yet spent.

Swiss midfielder Djibril Sow is the second most expensive in the squad while the £5 million paid for Evan N’Dicka is loose change in comparison to the fee they can now command for the young Frenchman.

Rafael Borre, a team-mate of Alfredo Morelos, is the one Connor Goldson and Calvin Bassey will have to keep a close eye on but the goal machine was a free from Argentinian side River Plate.

Here, Record Sport compares the total money spent on the two squads that will contest the Europa League final.

Allan McGregor - Free transfer (Hull City, 2018)

James Tavernier - £200k (Wigan, 2015)
