But Celtic fan Eddie Easson struck a raw nerve with Rangers fans after his casual dismissal of the Europa League Final ahead of the Ibrox men’s date with destiny.
Lewis Fotheringham, Mount Ellen, said: “Hotliner Eddie Easson dismissed the Europa League as a 'diddy' competition.
“Could this possibly be the same 'diddy' tournament Celtic couldn't get past the group stages in?”
Gary Shields, via email, said: “ Europa League is a diddy cup? Is that the same diddy cup your club took 35 million supporters to seen them play against another diddy club called Porto, who beat Celtic 3-2 by the way?”
Alfie Mullin, London, said: “As a Celtic supporter, he should know all about diddy competitions – Celtic are the biggest diddies to grace any European competition.”
