Jimmy Bell funeral brings out Rangers greats as current squad joined by legends for final farewell to iconic kitman

The Rangers squad have attended the funeral of legendary Ibrox kitman just 24 hours after returning from Spain.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his men flew back to Glasgow on Thursday afternoon following their Europa League final loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.

And the Rangers players joined mourners and representatives from Celtic to pay their respects to Bell who passed away earlier this month, aged 69.

Former club captains Richard Gough and Barry Ferguson were at the service, held at Glasgow's Wellington Church, for a much-loved club figure who worked at Ibrox for four decades.

Current skipper James Tavernier will conduct a bible reading at the ceremony and the players were joined by club Stewart Robertson, Andrew Dickson, Alastair Johnson and John Bennett.

Celtic kitmen Hughie Hoolighan and Steve Wright represented the Ibrox side's rivals while Hearts midfielder Andy Halliday and Tynecastle assistant Lee McCulloch paid their respects just 24 hours before facing Rangers in the Scottish Cup final.

McCulloch and Halliday are both former Gers players who struck up a close relationship with Bell like so many players during his time.
