Raging Rangers fan puts Michael Beale sack talk down to cancel culture as Kenny Miller rips into 'knee-jerk' reaction
One irate Rangers fan reckons the cries from some supporters to sack Michael Beale are tantamount to 'cancel culture', and Kenny Miller says it's all knee-jerk.
It's been civil war between some of the Rangers support in recent weeks after the London boss' heavy defeat to PSV in the Champions League was compounded by a 1-0 loss to rivals Celtic on their home turf of Ibrox, opening up a four-point gap behind Brendan Rodgers' men. It has some sections of the Light Blues support calling for Beale's head, but the Glasgow side are sticking by their man and the former QPR boss says he doesn't need assurances on his future.
But one raging fan called in to Clyde 1's Superscoreboard to claim fellow Rangers fans are simply jumping on the social media bandwagon and that calling for Beale to lose his job after just four games is like cancel culture. Former Ibrox man Miller agreed with the supporter and believes it would be 'knee-jerk' of Rangers to make that call and that the club "know what they are doing."
The caller said: "All this outrage calling for Beale to be sacked is utter nonsense, it's so stupid. I'm getting so fed up of this cancel culture, this sacking culture in football if you have a few bad results and you're out the door. You have to give the manager the time to do the job, since 2015 Rangers have had five permanent managers and people are calling for a sixth already? It's nonsense. Stupid and ridiculous...I'm fed up of those loud and angry Rangers fans."
