Rabbi Matondo lets Rangers fans in on a secret and reveals Philippe Clement's extra help to unlock goals

Rabbi Matondo admits he has been working on his finishing AWAY from Rangers during the winter break as he revealed Philippe Clement's key message.

The speedy winger opened the scoring in the 2-2 draw with Copenhagen last night as all eyes now focus on the Scottish Cup campaign getting underway against Dumbarton at the weekend. The Belgian boss has been putting his players through their paces in La Manga and Glasgow during the top flight shutdown and admitted to working his troops hard.

Rangers face a potential hectic schedule of 15 games in just 58 days as they look to continue fighting on all fronts this season. The way Matondo took his goal will come as a delight to Clement and the supporters as he targets more minutes and goals in the second half of the campaign. He's been working diligently behind the scenes on that aspect of his game as he let the fans in on the secret behind his strike and the chats with his Ibrox gaffer.

He told Rangers TV: "It's always nice to score. The manager always says there is no friendly games so it's always nice to score in any game. It felt nice and hopefully many more."

Asked if he has been working on his shooting, he added: "Yeah, 100 per cent. Even in the off-break we had, I had a few sessions outside of Rangers. Then coming back in the manager telling me 'this is something you need to work on, keep working on it'. It's obviously paid off for today's game and I'll keep working on it and hopefully many more goals. It's been difficult to get back up to speed (after injury) but I feel like I'm in a good way right now and long may it continue and hopefully many more improvements and goals and assists and helping the team.
