Pupils left feeling 'anxious and upset' at Manchester primary school after bullying not dealt with effectively by staff

Pupils feel 'anxious and upset' at a Manchester primary school because bullying and poor behaviour isn't dealt with effectively by staff, inspectors say.

The inspectors described how pupils found lessons at Peel Hall Primary 'uninspiring and pointless', and governors and leaders at the school were blamed for having low expectations of pupils, with the school seeing 'a decline in the quality of education'.

Attendance is another concern, with some pupils not turning up at school often enough and absences hampering their progress, and school governors were described as a ' weaknesses' who are not holding the leadership team to account.

Concerns over some pupils' behaviour and attendance at the school were highlighted in an interim inspection in October 2021.

The school is maintained by Manchester City Council under the leadership of headteacher
