Pundits disagree over Sheffield United and Middlesbrough play-off chances ahead of final fixture

Championship pundits Michael Gray and David Prutton have given their predictions for tomorrow's fixtures and both have differing views who they think will land a play-off position. It's set up to be a thrilling final day with four teams going for two spaces.

Sheffield United entertain Fulham at Bramall Lane knowing victory will guarantee their place. Currently in fifth, destiny is in their own hands along with sixth-placed Luton, who host Reading.

The two teams outside of the play-off picture are Middlesbrough and Millwall. Chris Wilder's side travel to Preston, while Gary Rowett's men make the trip to already-promoted Bournemouth.

Both need to win their matches and hope for favours elsewhere. Anything less than a win for United and Paul Heckingbottom and his coaching staff will be looking nervously at what's happening at Deepdale and Kenilworth Road.

And former Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday defender Gray believes it will be Middlesbrough's day.

“I think Middlesbrough are going to leapfrog Sheffield United," he told BetfredTV. "Fulham were incredible against Luton. Many believed that could have been a banana skin for them, so they’re not going to let it slip against Sheffield United.

"I think Marco Silva will tell his players to go out on a high. Bramall Lane is a tough place to go but I can see Fulham winning that game.

"I see Luton beating Reading, but I also see Middlesbrough beating Preston. I think with Sheffield United losing and Middlesbrough winning, that’s where I believe the leapfrog will happen.

"Chris Wilder leapfrogging the club he loves, the club he took into the Premier League, but that’s the job he has to do. I see Middlesbrough getting into those play-offs.”
