Primark opens Lion King cafe inside Manchester store with milkshakes, bubble teas and more

Lion King fans are in for a treat at Primark in Manchester after it's opened a new Lion King cafe.

It's part of Disney's 30th anniversary celebrations for the film in collaboration with the retailer, which will also see products featuring its key characters on the shop floor in the coming weeks.

The themed cafe has opened inside the Market Street store, promising to transport customers 'to the Pride Lands' with a menu which includes the likes of bbq wings, nachos and hot dogs, as well as waffles, milkshakes, smoothies, bubble teas and more. For little ones you can get a Kids Lunch Box for £4.95, which includes a wrap, snack, piece of fruit and a drink.

The retailer is becoming well-known for its themed cafes having launched previous ones based on The Grinch, Disney's Lilo & Stitch, and Hello Kitty.

Earlier today we reported how a new SpongeBob SquarePants cafe has also opened inside the Trafford Palazzo branch.

Primark's director of new business development Tim Kelly said: “We’ve seen an amazing response from customers to our revolving cafe themes so far, so we’re delighted to reveal the next chapter with Simba and Nala in the limelight.

"At Primark, we’re always looking at ways to bring unrivalled in-store experiences to our customers and give them more reasons to visit their local store. We hope our customers in Manchester love our latest offering, and keep an eye out for the next revolving theme later this year.”

The Lion King cafe is now open in Primark stores in Manchester Market Street, Edinburgh and Cardiff until August, and in Merryhill and Belfast until October.
