Predicted Rangers starting XI as Cyriel Dessers' case to partner Danilo goes back years and PSV know it
It's not Dungeons and Dragons but Rangers have hope they have their own D and D ready to play their role to perfection.
Cyriel Dessers and Danilo are feeling their way into Ibrox life but with both netting in the Viaplay Cup win over Morton confidence is up. A clash with PSV is a proper test to reach the Champions League but this pair know all about causing strife against Eindhoven – they have been doing it for years. The duo have scored regularly against one of the biggest Eredivisie sides with Dessers netting in both the colours of Utrecht and Feyenoord. Danilo also netted against them in his De Kuip days and the pair appear primed to start against a side they know better than most.
Michael Beale namechecked the win over PSV last season as a triumph of the Gio Van Bronckhorst era and he now seeks a repeat against a side who appear large and in charge under the guidance of Peter Bosz. He has won at Ibrox with both Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon and is eyeing a hat-trick. But how will Beale approach it? Jose Cifuentes appears a likely starter despite playing for the start against Morton and Todd Cantwell's form means Sam Lammers will almost certainly return to the bench. Record Sport runs the rule on the likely line-up and the squad in full.
