Police release CCTV images after man attacked in Piccadilly railway station toilets

A man was viciously attacked in toilets at Manchester Piccadilly railway station, police have revealed.

British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak with.

Officers believe he may be able to help their investigation into the incident.

The victim was followed into toilets by another man who police said began to make' violent threats' towards him.

He grabbed the man by the neck, causing him to hit his head against a cubicle, before repeatedly punching him in the head.

He then walked out of the station.

British Transport Police gave no update on the victim's condition.

The attack happened at around 5.30pm on Monday, February 21.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

In a statement, BTP said: "Officers investigating a violent assault at Manchester Piccadilly station are today releasing CCTV images.

"At 5.30pm on Monday 21 February, a man entered the male toilets at the station and was followed by another man, who began making violent threats towards him.

"He then grabbed the victim by the neck, hitting his head against the cubicle, and repeatedly punching him in the head.

"He then walked away and left the station.

"Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation."
