Police descend on Denton beauty spot after man found dead

A man has been tragically found dead at a beauty spot in Denton.

Officers closed off an area of woodland in the Tameside neighbourhood this morning (March 8). Witnesses have reported seeing eight police vehicles in attendance at Cemetery Road.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police confirmed a man in his 40s had sadly died. A force spokesperson said: "Shortly before 8am this morning, we were called to Cemetery Road in Denton to reports of concern for welfare for a man.

"Emergency services attended and sadly a man in his 40s was found deceased. There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances."

Multiple Greater Manchester Police vans have been seen in the area. Images from the scene show a Tactical Aid Unit van outside the woods.

A lane has been closed off as part of the cordon. Officers have since left the area.
