Police investigating 3am bottle attack arrest three suspects

Police investigating a mugging in Manchester city centre where a man was attacked with a bottle at 3am have arrested three suspects.

They have been held in connection with a robbery on Market Street on Sunday June 16 at around 3am. The victim, a man in his 20s, was attacked with a bottle 'but thankfully didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries', say police.

Cops from the City of Manchester Neighbourhood Crime Team swooped this morning and arrested three men.

The men, two of them aged and the third aged 29, remain in custody for questioning, said a statement from Greater Manchester Police.

Detective Inspector Natalie McDonald said: “This is an example of our ongoing work into investigations where we continue to track and trace suspects by utilising a number of methods.

“Alongside our proactive patrols and briefings, we managed to identify and then locate three people we strongly believe are linked to this incident. Our work now is trying to obtain further evidence to ensure we progress the investigation and provide the necessary support to the victim.
