Police cordon off road after man assaulted in Neath near Arch nightclub - live updates

A road remains shut and a man is in a serious condition following an assault in Neath in the early hours of Friday morning. South Wales Police officers have closed Commercial Street near Neath town centre following reports of a serious assault near The Arch bar and club.

A 48-year-old man has been rushed to hospital and remains in a serious condition, police said at 6am on Friday morning. A large section of Commercial Street has been taped off for investigation work since 12.50am.

Officers have appealed for help with their investigation. They say anyone with any information can contact them and should quote reference number 2200236046.
