Police cordon off main road beside retail park after cyclist hit by double decker bus - live updates

Emergency services are on the scene of a serious collision this evening after a cyclist was hit by a double decker bus. Police and paramedics have closed off Manchester Road (A635) near Audenshaw.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collisions Investigation Unit are also on the scene. There is a road closure in place in both directions currently.

The collision was reported beside the Snipe Retail Park. Buses are being diverted and the road is expected to remain closed for a number of hours this evening.

Pictures from the scene show a cordon in place, with a number of police vehicles and ambulances. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further details on this incident.

The Manchester Evening News understands the collision this evening involved a bus and a female cyclist.
