Police and fire service respond to incident in Cardiff city centre

Emergency services responded to an incident in Cardiff city centre on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 24. Four fire engines and three police vehicles attended the scene on Castle Street, where one lane of the road was closed.

Boats could be seen in the water of the River Taff after police were called to reports of a person in the river just after 4pm. They continued: "A woman has been taken to University Hospital of Wales for treatment. The road closure on Castle Street has now been lifted."

A fire service spokesperson added: "SWFRS received a call at approximately 16:06 to an incident near the Holiday Inn Castle Street, Cardiff."
