Players to resume media duties as expenses stand-off cools
The Gaelic Players Association has told members they can resume post-match interviews with broadcasters once more.
This follows a series of discussions with the GAA over a row around expenses.
Both groups were split on the official terms of the players charter with the issue of training four times a week - and who would pay for a fifth session - a critical standoff in the negotiations.
For the past number of weeks, the GPA had advised its membership not to partake in media interviews with broadcasters on match days.
But ongoing talks are said to have been positive.
And today the GPA gave the green light to inter-county players to resume such interviews.
A note to players issued said: "We have engaged in a series of meetings with the GAA regarding the dispute over your expenses.
"Discussions have been constructive and positive.
"In recognition of this and as a gesture of goodwill on behalf of players as we seek to finalise a resolution, the player protest which focussed on the removal of cooperation with post- match broadcast interviews has now been suspended."
