Philippe Clement tells Rangers fans 'I'm not Harry Potter with a magic stick' and reveals who is back for Hibs clash

New Rangers boss Philippe Clement insists he's not Harry Potter and can't magically fix everything at Rangers in his first game.

The 49-year-old will take the Ibrox reins for the first time when Nick Montgomery's men travel across the M8 for the marquee Saturday afternoon clash in Govan as he aims to make the perfect Rangers start. But he was keen to stress this is just the start and not to expect an immediate transformation given his lack of magic powers.

“I hope the fans see differences, but I’m not Harry Potter with a magic stick who can change everything suddenly," he told Sky Sports. it doesn’t work that way. That’s the tough balance now coming in during the season, but it’s not my first time. It was the same at Genk and Monaco - when you come in during the season, you need to make a good analysis of what can be better and what is good.”

Todd Cantwell is set to return to face the capital club. The midfielder has become embroiled in a war of words with Record Sport columnist Chris Sutton this week, who told the former Norwich City man to do his talking on the pitch after the player branded Sutton an "attention seeker."

Now Cantwell will get the chance to do that after Clement admitted he'll play some part against the Hibees, but no the full 90 minutes following a knee injury. Danilo and Ryan Jack are also available. "Todd Cantwell will be back," said Clement.

"Ryan Jack will be back but not for the full 90. Lawrence and Matondo are injured and will miss out. Cantwell is increasing his workload following the injury so won't play the 90. Danilo is adapting, it is his first moments training with a mask. We will likely need him for the weekend.
