Philippe Clement reveals Rangers excuse he NEVER wants to hear as only one thing matters at Livingston

Philippe Clement expects Livingston's artificial pitch to prove a game-changer - but it will never be used as a Rangers excuse.

The Belgian made it six games unbeaten as Ibrox boss with a barnstorming first half inspiring a 2-1 win over Sparta Prague in the Europa League. It leaves them three points ahead of the Czech side with two games to go in Group C, and they sit in second with a better head-to-head record over their defeated foes in third.

Up next is an entirely different challenge away at Livingston, in the Premiership who find themselves 11th ahead of the weekend's action. Clement says Rangers must continue to strive for improvement in their play, but how they go about it changes on Almondvale's artificial surface. Winning remains the key demand. He said: "Artificial surfaces change the way in which the ball moves and you need to adapt to that - I want a team who will never use this as an excuse. The only important thing is winning, regardless of the surface.

"As a player, you need to be ambitious and take on lessons in order to improve. We are not working with robots, we are working with people and you don't know what is going to happen. There are so many situations beyond our control - but the players are focused and concentrated every day.

"I know if everyone starts to do things together, then we create a team that is to be able to make chances. We work here with a lot of people who help in a great way and who are on the same wavelength.
