Philippe Clement leaves Rangers first XI clues hiding in plain sight as Belgian moves the pieces for debut

Philippe Clement has a huge task ahead of him to turn Rangers' fortunes around - but it's one the Belgian is relishing.

Having only been out of the managerial game for a matter of months following his Monaco sacking, he beat off competition from Kevin Muscat to win the race for the Ibrox throne - after being appointed last Sunday, he's been getting to work on the training ground ahead of a busy first month in Scotland.

Having eased expectations by claiming that he isn't a "miracle worker," Rangers fans will be intrigued to see how he sets up in his first game in the Light Blues hot seat - and against a sturdy Hibs side, it's one of the tougher domestic tasks he could've asked for. Record Sport takes a look at how Clement lined up in his Club Brugge and Monaco debuts and what fans can expect on Saturday afternoon.

First, we revisit Clement’s debut for Monaco back in January 2022. He took on seventh-placed Nantes away from home in his first game, with the Monegasque side sat sixth in the table following the sacking of Niko Kovac. Having lost six games from 19 until that point, scoring 30 in the league and conceding 23, Clement went for a more conservative side that was less likely to concede.
