Peter Lawwell's Celtic stand-up has Rangers fans raging as Ibrox diehard told REAL reason for derby penalty run - Hotline

Peter Lawwell had them rolling in the aisles at the Celtic AGM with some cheeky digs at Rangers. But the Ibrox faithful weren’t laughing as they dialled up the Hotline to pop back.

Graham Roberts, Edinburgh, was first up to hit out at the Hoops chairman: “So Peter Lawwell has found a new career as a comedian, stating the last time Rangers conceded a penalty John Greig handled the ball. He may well be correct because as I recall, it was the same season Celtic last won a Champions League group match!” A perplexed Alfie Mullin, London, said: “Why are Celtic-minded people so obsessed with Rangers? Even their board couldn't resist giving Rangers a mention at their AGM. It’s strange.” Chris Lowe, Yoker, added: “Once again the Celtic hierarchy bring the game into disrepute by make cheap jibes about referees and Rangers. They’ve airbrushed the fact that a dodgy VAR decision allowed them to steal the points at Ibrox earlier in the season.”

The Green Brigade’s current stand-off with Parkhead chiefs was also a hot topic at the shareholder summit after Celtic were hit with another Uefa fine. And William Hutchison, Aberdeen, said: “Hope the Green Brigade are happy. Because of their stupidity we’ve been fined £26,500 - yet they complain about being banned. The club should charge each GB member an extra £20 per ticket until the fines are paid off.”
