Peter Ambrose seals Aberdeen transfer as Jimmy Thelin completes double signing

Aberdeen have completed their second signing of the day with the capture of forward Peter Ambrose from Hungarian side Ujpest for an undisclosed fee.

The Nigerian striker scored 10 goals in 34 matches last season and has penned a three year deal at Pittodrie with the option of an additional year. Ambrose will bolster new Dons boss Jimmy Thelin's options at the top end of the field, although talisman Bojan Miovski could leave the club this summer amid interest from high-flying Serie A side Bologna and other teams around the continent.

Ambrose's arrival came just minutes after the club announced the signing of defender Gavin Molloy from Irish Premier Division side Shelbourne - also for an undisclosed fee - on a three year deal. The 22-year-old centre back has been a regular for Shelbourne in recent seasons and scooped up an award for Young Player of the Year last year.

The Reds have also announced the departures of goalkeeper Kelle Roos, defender Anthony Stewart and midfield duo Jonny Hayes and Connor Barron, with the latter in talks to join ojan Miovsk on a free transfer. Stefan Gartenmann and Killian Phillips have also left the club at the end of their loan deals but Aberdeen remain in talks with winger Junior Hoilett over a new deal.
