Pete Wicks admits he's 'embarrassed' and says 'time to go back' after best pal Sam Thompson's I'm A Celebrity stint

Pete Wicks has admitted he 'embarrassed himself' and said 'time to go back' after his best friend Sam Thompson's stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. The former The Only Way Is Essex star flew out to Australia in support of his podcast co-host Sam due to his girlfriend Zara Mcdermott being unable to be there.

Zara took part in this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside her professional dance partner Graziano Di Prima but due to the length of the competition and not knowing how long she'd be in the running, she couldn't commit to going Down Under to support her boyfriend.

Instead it was Pete who surprised his pal in the jungle with emotional scenes which saw the pair in tears as they were reunited for the first time in weeks. Pete told Sam "I've missed you," as he then said: "The cats miss you, Zara asked me to give this to you – a nose bop.”

The unlikely duo, who met when they both appeared on Celebs Go Dating, then had another tear-jerking reunion on the bridge after Sam was crowned King of the Jungle. Sam jumped into Pete's arms and the pair then hugged before posing for pictures together.

Sharing a photo of the pair from what looks to be the from the I'm A Celeb wrap party after Sam's win, Pete wrote to his 1.6 million followers: "What a journey…what a guy. It’s over and out from the #TEAMSAM jungle fan club, I’ve embarrassed myself enough! Time to to go back to calling him a pri*k every two minutes."
