Perth curlers Harry Gow and Chloe McNaughton win silver at Scottish Junior Mixed Doubles Championship

Perth curlers enjoyed silverware success at the Scottish Junior Mixed Doubles Championships.

Dewars Centre regulars Harry Gow and Chloe McNaughton impressively navigated through to the final at the Dumfries Ice Bowl.

They were defeated in the showdown match by Robyn Munro and Angus Bryce but were delighted to return home with a second-place finish.

“I was really pleased with the performance at the mixed doubles,” said Chloe.

“Our goal was to get through to the quarter-finals but we made it all the way to the final. I will take away how it felt to be in the final as it was the first big one of my curling career.”

A 7-6 semi-final win against Holly Wilkie-Milne and Struan Carson was particularly memorable.

“The semi-final win was so exciting,” Chloe told the Perthshire Advertiser.

“After the final stone was played I was in disbelief that we had managed to win and exceed the expectations we had put on ourselves.”

With the current curling season coming to a close, Chloe is determined to continue improving.

“I have a trial day next month for the Scottish Curling Academy,” Chloe revealed. "And I also have gym sessions multiple times a week, which I will be continuing.”
