Pep Guardiola press conference LIVE Kovacic and Bernardo latest ahead of Newcastle vs Man City

Pep Guardiola will speak to the press on Tuesday afternoon ahead of Manchester City vs Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup. City have dominated the League Cup since Guardiola took charge of the side, winning it four times, but haven't won it since 2021. It was the only trophy they failed to win last season as a defeat to Nathan Jones' lowly Southampton cost them a potential quadruple.

The Blues have a difficult start to the competition with a mid-week trip to Newcastle on Wednesday, who destroyed Sheffield United 8-0 on the weekend.

City defeated the Magpies 1-0 in their second match of the new season but it was a narrow affair with Julian Alvarez's first-half strike making the difference.

It's set to be another tough outing, especially as City continue to deal with injuries. Guardiola may offer an update on the status of Mateo Kovacic, Bernardo Silva and John Stones in his press conference.
