The 30-year-old recorded a career-best 58 points (24 goals, 34 assists) during 60 regular season games and added another two goals and six assists in seven playoffs games as the Penguins were eventually defeated by the New York Rangers in the opening round.
The Michigan native was selected in the third round (No. 80 overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft and has spent his entire eight-year NHL career with the Pens.
He is coming off a four-year, $14 million deal and would become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
