Pellistri in and Fernandes out - Manchester United supporters choose starting XI vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United begin their defence of the Carabao Cup with a home tie against Crystal Palace to kick off a double-header against the Eagles.

The Reds are due to host Roy Hogdson and his team again in the Premier League on Saturday and so both sides could ring in a number of changes. Palace have a handful of important players sidelined while United are set to welcome back at least two.

Harry Maguire and Mason Mount are in contention for selection while Raphael Varane came on late against Burnley after picking up a knock against Nottingham Forest last month. Sofyan Amrabat made his debut at Turf Moor and is set to make his Old Trafford bow on Tuesday.

It may be no surprise to see him included in the starting XI fans want to see line up against Palace.

Altay Bayindir may come in for his debut with the goalkeeper set to deputise for Andre Onana when he jets off to the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon in January. Fans wish to see him given a run-out to get the Old Trafford juices flowing ahead of the new year.

Supporters want to see Varane get his first start since August 28th to get speed back into his legs against a likely weakened Palace side, ahead of Saturday’s rematch. Jonny Evans grabbed an assist on his 200th Reds appearance against Burnley and supporters wish to see him retain his place after helping to keep United’s second clean sheet of the season.

There is little room for manoeuvre in the full-back positions with Diogo Dalot and Sergio Reguilon the only fit options. Erik ten Hag will hope Reguilon has covered from the sickness he played through against Burnley.
