Paul Scholes names damning Manchester United leadership problem in Liverpool comparison
Paul Scholes has declared Manchester United lost and bereft of ideas as he raised major question marks over their leadership credentials. United were humbled by arch rivals Liverpool again on Tuesday night as the rampant Reds served up another heavy and humiliating defeat.
Having won 5-0 at Old Trafford earlier in the season, Jurgen Klopp and his title-chasing team yet again swept aside United with a clinical display. Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah (two) and Sadio Mane settled the scores as United took a big blow to their Champions League qualification ambitions.
United were without six senior players — including Cristiano Ronaldo — for the Premier League showdown and they also lost Paul Pogba to an early injury. Even when they are fit and firing, though, Scholes says that United simply do not have any leaders within the dressing room.

Scholes told Premier League Productions: "Manchester United never laid a finger on any of their players. They let them do anything they wanted. It was far, far too easy for Liverpool and the motivation is difficult to take.
"Manchester United players should be up for every game. They looked bereft of ideas, lost, unenthusiastic and a group of players that was flat. You talk about leaders and there's none in United's squad.
"Liverpool have Milner, Henderson, Van Dijk, Matip, Fabinho — they're all leaders. It's a squad of real men. Liverpool have got that type of character and that type of leader in abundance."
