Paul Scholes details 'worry' over Manchester United player after defeat vs Galatasaray

Paul Scholes is concerned about the fitness levels of Raphael Varane following another tough night for the defender in Tuesday's defeat against Galatasaray.

Manchester United suffered their second consecutive Champions League defeat, failing to hold two leads and eventually losing 3-2. Rasmus Hojlund scored two brilliant goals either side of half-time but quickly saw each cancelled out firstly by Wilfried Zaha and then Kerem Aktürkoğlu.

Erik ten Hag's side went down to 10 men when Casemiro gave away a penalty following a terrible pass from Andre Onana. And despite Mauro Icardi dragging his spot-kick wide, the Argentinian gathered himself to dink a simple finish over the Reds goalkeeper to win the game.

He’s a bit unfit, and I’d be really worried about him."

Defeat on Tuesday was United's sixth in just 10 matches across all competitions, signalling their worst start to a season for 37 years. It was also the first time they have lost their first two Champions League matches.
