Paul Pogba lashes out at Manchester United's 'nothing' offer as Mino Raiola conversation emerges

Paul Pogba said he wants to show Manchester United they made a “mistake” by not extending his contract at the club.

United confirmed earlier this month the midfielder will leave Old Trafford as a free agent as his contract expires on June 30. It is the second time Pogba has left the club for free, having also done so in 2012.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News , the 29-year-old is set to rejoin Juventus, having departed the Italian club for a then-world record fee of £89million in 2016. His second spell at United though saw him struggle to produce consistent performances, with fans left frustrated by his showings.

And supporters likely won’t warm to him any more following quotes from his latest documentary. Speaking in The Pogmentary, which will be released on Amazon Prime on June 17, Pogba said: “My thought process is to show Manchester (United) that they made a mistake in waiting to give me a contract. And to show other clubs that Manchester had made a mistake in not offering me a contract.”

United had made attempts to tie Pogba down to a new deal, making offers worth more than his existing £290,000-a-week contract. Reports have suggested the midfielder may even take a pay cut in order to return to Juventus this summer.

Despite United’s offers, Pogba is seen in the documentary dismissing their attempts. When told by his late agent Mino Raiola of the club’s second offer last July, the France international describes it as “nothing”.

“How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing?” Pogba says. “Never seen that.”
