Paul Hanlon 'looks set' for Hibs summer exit with transfer options in Scotland, England and abroad

Paul Hanlon looks set for the Hibs exit door this summer as part of a shake-up, according to a report.

The long-serving Easter Road star is out of contract at the end of the season and the Scottish Sun report that the club legend will be one of a host of senior names to be allowed to seek a new challenge as the Leith outfit look to bring down the average age of Nick Montgomery's first team squad.

The 34-year-old is in the final months of his current terms alongside the likes of veteran No1 David Marshall and fellow defender Lewis Stevenson. The same report claims that the stopper won't be short of offers with interest from Scottish Premiership rivals as well as teams south of the border and overseas as he considers his next steps in the professional game. Hanlon will go down as a club hero after playing his role in ending the 114-year wait to lift the Scottish Cup with that famous triumph over Rangers at Hampden. David Gray sparked wild scenes with his injury-time winner with Hanlon also capped by Scotland.

He's featured 23 times so far this season across all competitions including the Europa Conference League qualifying run at the start of the campaign. He's missed the last two league outings against St Mirren and Celtic that ended in two defeats for the capital club but was part of the squad that defeated Inverness last time out.

They currently sit seventh in the top flight - three points behind Dundee in the race for top six. The club booked a top half finish and European football alongside that last term and they are out for a repeat but know they must get back to winning ways with some big games on the horizon starting with Aberdeen at Pittodrie this coming weekend before Dundee visit Leith and then the Edinburgh
