Patty Tavatanakit cruises to Saudi Invitational win while Leona Maguire slumps to even par

Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit cruised to a seven-stroke victory at the Saudi Invitational with a closing 65 at Riyadh Golf Club.

Tavatanakit, who won the ANA Inspiration in 2021, sealed her first victory on the Ladies European Tour, obliterating the chasing pack to win at her ease on a final tally of 18-under par.

Three strokes clear ahead of Sunday, Tavatanakit registered six birdies and an eagle, with just one dropped stroke at 17, to finish seven ahead of Germany's Esther Henseleit in second place.

England's Charley Hull and Japan's Minami Katsu were two strokes back in tied-third on nine-under par.

LEADERBOARD

Leona Maguire's disappointing weekend concluded with a second successive 74 to leave her tied-29th overall.

Maguire carded the low round of the week with a stunning 64 on Friday, and yet had to content herself with an even par finish, after shooting over par rounds on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

She registered three bogeys on 6, 7 and 9 to reach the turn in a two-over par 38, and despite recovering somewhat with birdies at 10 and 14, successive dropped strokes on 16 and 17 saw her slip back to even par for the tournament.
