Paris 2024: Irish in action on Day 8 of Olympic Games
Ireland will have two Olympic gold medallists in action on Saturday at Paris 2024, with Daniel Wiffen taking to the blocks in the heats of the 1500m freestyle and Kellie Harrington facing off against Beatriz Soares Ferreira in a bout to see which fighter will box for lightweight gold.
Danielle Hill will join Wiffen at La Defense for the heats of 50m freestyle, while Ireland are also in relay action in the pool.
Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy play the penultimate round of the golf tournament at Le Golf National, with the latter still in contention for a medal.
Ben Healy and Ryan Mullen get on their bikes for the road race, with Finn Lynch, Eve McMahon, Madison Corcoran, Noel Hendrick and Liam Jegou all racing in boats of various descriptions.
Double world champion Rhys McClenaghan bids for gold in the final of the pommel horse, with 1500m runners Luke McCann, Cathal Doyle and Andrew Coscoran bidding to bounce back from disappointing displays when they contest the repechage of the event.
