PANASA donates equipment for scrabble in Jungle Championship

The Pan African Scrabble Association (PANASA) has donated equipment and other gift items to the organisers of the Scrabble in the Jungle Championship, Season II, which is also known as the ‘Gen Z’ edition. The championship began on Friday in Ikeja, Lagos and will end today.

According to PANASA, the shower of gift items is to continue encouraging those individuals and corporate bodies at the forefront of developing scrabble at the grassroots in Nigeria.

Eight varieties of gifts were presented to the organisers of the event, including a Pro Scrabble board for the eventual winner, 12 PANASA tracker booklets, 12 Mamador branded exercise books, 12 McVities branded exercise books and 12 Peak yoghurt branded towels, among others.

President of Scrabble Las Vegas, Musa Olasupo, organisers of the tournament, who received the items, thanked the PANASA, led by Adekoyejo Adegbesan, for the support.

Scrabble in the Jungle Season II commenced on Friday in Lagos with 11 games and 32 games will be played in total.

The country’s 10 top scrabble players, including former world champion, Wellington Jighere, ae fighting for honours at the championship. Jighere won the maiden edition of the championship in Warri, Delta State.
