Palestine activists descend on Scotland vs Israel shutout to make some noise at closed doors clash

Pro-Palestine supporters descended on Hampden to protest against Israel's ongoing military option inside Gaza.

The activists headed to the national stadium on Friday night with police in attendance with the Scotland women national team taking on their Israeli counterparts behind closed doors. But those who are opposed to the ongoing war made clear their stance as they carried small coffins and taped their mouths – in the wake of the harrowing scenes which emanated out of Rafah earlier this week. There was also multiple anti-Israel signage on display.

Police were in attendance but the pro-Palestine protest was allowed to take place outside the national stadium before the action kicked off at 18:05pm inside Hampden. The SFA moved to take this match behind closed doors "following extensive security consultations with all key parties". And an element protesting against Israel was expected.

Police Scotland said: "Appropriate policing plans are in place to maintain public safety and minimise any disruption to the community."
